The Spec of my 2016/66 R12RT

Post by EasyRider »

So i wanted to see if buying me bike from a dealer was a good deal.
The OEM build of the bike with the items fitted are as followed, which i think is pretty good.

X0191 Dynamic ESA
X0193 Keyless Ride
X0202 Daytime running lights
X0204 Hill Start Control
X0219 Deluxe headlight
X0222 Gearshift assistant Pro
X0224 Driving modes Pro
X0230 Comfort Package
X0233 Touring package
X0235 Dynamic package
X0272 Preparation, navigation unit
X0326 Speedometer mph
X0350 Exhaust system, chrome
X0381 Operating instructions, English
X0417 Central locking system
X0518 Seat heating
X0530 RDC
X0538 Cruise control
X0568 Drivetrain, black
X05AC ABS pro
X0603 Alarm system
X0736 National version Great Britain
X0764 Plug-in socket

Other part fitted are : Denali spot-lights, Denali Horn, BMW engine sliders, Heed engine bars, Innovv cameras (front & rear).

It also has a genuine BMW colour coded top box with stop-light.

I have heard some people moan about the price of a large BMW top box in the pass, but never thought much of it.
So today i found the BMW accessories options and prices. OMG, a new top box with brake light and lock set is £1370 just over.
Now i know why there are not many R12RT's out there for sale with a Genuine BMW top box.

I could have got a newer bike with less miles (18,400) on for the same price i paid. But not with all the kit this bike has. Paying the extra now is a no brainer in my book. I bought it from CMC Newport for £9199 cash. What also sold me on it was there lifetime warranty if you have them service the bike. £999 for 4 services which i will take out next spring.
I bought my first Hayabusa from CMC Cannock and there warranty works as i had a couple of coil pack go bad and they were replaced FOC.

Nice bike.
Keep an eye on used forums such as eBay, you may find the box that you're looking for at more reasonable money.
I've bought several that way for various BMW bikes and never been disappointed

Anyone know what is the difference in spec between a 2015 spec LE and a 2016 LE ? All I can see visually is the reflector on the fork leg.

There are a couple of things i want to add to it, to make it nicer for me to ride.

1.) handlebar risers.
2.) footpeg lowering kit.

I also want a Sat-Nav too.

But i'm in no rush as i have untill the spring before i start using the RT. I'm riding my Varadero 1000 ATM.

Well that was short lived.

Went to the dealer today to pay the last on my money for the bike.
I asked if i could have the paperwork as i had now paid the bike in full.
They gave me some of it and said i would get the rest when the bike is delivered.
I got home and looked though the paperwork and was not total happy.
I thought it was ment to have full BMW service history. Which it did not.
Also someone have gone though the paperwork with a black market.
So with this in mind and the other things that needed sorting with it.
I am now not buying this bike. I just don't feel happy with buying it anymore.
So i am now on the hunt for another R12RT that i can buy.
As the wife has said. This bike was not ment to be, and the right one will turn up.

They don't do that. I just did not feel i would be happy with the bike anymore. It's a shame, as it was a good spec bike.
£9200 is a lot to me and the wife for a bike, as we did spend a total of just under 12k on 2 bikes at the same time from them.

There’s plenty out there and they’ll get more desperate as winter rolls in. I bought mine on Dec 19th, just before the first lockdown, it was a very shiny bike when I got to finally ride it again!
