Exhaust Silencer

Post by EasyRider »

I maybe changing in my ways, but is it worth having an aftermarket exhaust silencer on the RT.
I have an Akrapovic on my zx9r, i had Akrapovic's on my Gen2 Hayabusa. But these bikes were for speed.
Apart from a little bit of weight saving and maybe a couple of extra bhp. does the RT need it in the real world.

I put one on!

I then took it off! Way too loud for my liking

I might sell it

Think aftermarket looks much better than the original lump and that Arrow pipe sounds awesome. But it doesn't have that stupid cat on it

Thought about it too and decided to keep it stock. While the big chrome silencer looks awful on the R/RS, to me it's OK on the RT especially with the Triple Black colors.

You're riding a Gentlemans bike now. It's all about adding weight now and riding past silently.
