RoadLok

Post by EasyRider »

I've been using RoadLok's since 2013 when i bought my ZZR1400.
I had one also on my Gen2 Hayabusa and i fitted one to the wife XJ6F.
I kept the one off my Gen2 as i'm going to fit radial brackets to my Gen1 and fit my Brembo with the RoadLok.
A used one for the BMW came up for sale on ukGSer for a good price. So i bought it, and its like new.
There a good bit of kit as its bolted on to the bike. There is no forgetting the disclock is on and damaging the fender.
So tomorrow i will fit the new one to my R1250RT.

This morning i cleaned up the bolts and spacers for the RoadLok, and have now fitted it onto the RT.
Again i am very happy with it as i know there a good bit of kit to have.

Got to admit I hadn't heard of that make before, but that's a neat solution, however at £210 (£220 for the bling version) it's a pricy bit of kit. That said, have you seen the price of a good disc lock nowadays that is both less convenient to carry and judging by review below, ain't as good either. My only criticism is that it doesn't seem to have anywhere to attached a bright yellow curly cable (please correct me if I'm wrong). I like the reminder for me and it shows to the scumbags that you're at least trying to make life hard for them. Nonetheless, I'm tempted.

Good review below:-

Yes £210 is a bit pricy.
I paid £100 for the one on my zzr (it was secondhand), got my money back when i sold it on.
The one on my Gen2 Busa was £179 new in early 2021
The one on the XJ6F was £56 including postage from the USA. It was new old stock.
This one i just bought used for the RT was £130 posted.

There is a ring on the locking pin that you can fit a bright yellow curly cable to.

These are what i know of.

Right side mounting
XRA-307 for BMW 100mm
XRA-307 for all others 100mm

XRA-308 for all 108mm

There is also a left side mounting as well. these are not that popular.
