Help removing panel

Post by Orca the RT »

I'm fitting the Heed crash bars and would prefer to remove a few panels.

I've followed the video from Ilium

but get stuck on the panel with the BMW badge. I've taken the screws out, popped the bungs, but can't dislodge the 2 tabs and velcro near the top (approx 1min 50sec in the video)...don't want to snap anything.

Does anyone have any tips to remove these panels?

Thanks for speedy reply. I'm getting so much resistance. I feel that the velcro might be the biggest cause.

Go to the 9:40 mark and see if this provides additional information on removing the upper panel(s).

Thank you...they make it look so easy!

I managed it in the end getting my arm behind the panel and using a tea spoon to pry the velcro apart...after that the tabs came out easily.
