What have you got planned for 2015?

Post by Bertie »

Well it's snowing outside and it doesn't look like we will be riding any great distance for a while yet, but at least we can dream and plan. Does anyone have any trips planned?

I have a short tour planned early May taking in a Rally near Ypres followed by a couple of days near Albert, both places visited frequently as I love the area.

However this year I am determined to have a few days riding around Wales as its one place I have never really explored.

We, that is my wife and I often ride into Wales as we live just outside Stoke. Often have lunch at the Royal Oak in Betws-y-Coed then loop round thro Snowdonia via Beddgelert then across to Bala to get the mountain road (B4391) back to Shrewsbury and then home. Always try to ride the B roads and try and do it in the week.
In June we are going to Croatia. It will be the first time in Europe on the RT as last year we had to go to Germany on a loaned K 1600GTLE due to the recall.

Zell Am See in Austria at the end of May for 10 days with a tour group.  Did it 2 years ago. Got held up one day by an avalanche.
Six day round trip of Scotland in September.

May 22nd Harz mountains then to Cochem and another trip to Germany at the beginning of September to the wine festival at Bernkastel. I must say I've been to Germany about 10 times and absolutely love the roads over there.

We are doing a 2 week Tour to Germany, including Harz Mountains, on our way home, we stay in Klotten which is less than 3 miles from Cochem.

I've got the usual collection of weekends:

Cornwall in mid-February

South West Penninsula Rally - March

Richmond (Surrey) to Richmond (N.Yorks) - April

Norfolk - May

etc etc

Our big trip this year is to Iceland - but that's largely off-road, so rental bikes, NOT RTs!

Wales seems a popular choice, we are heading there ourselves for a long weekend.

Plus 2 weeks in Germany & 2 weeks to & from Norway.
