The subject says it all. I wanted an extra brake light and I prefer the Denali B6. Do I need to install the CanSmart or HexCan to use this?
I realize I can’t get all the functionality of flashing lights, etc. without the CanSmart/Hex controller, but I don’t have to have that. Just want an extra brake light for now.
I have a 2021 RT.
Thanks in advance.

No
Providing you can find the feed to the rear lights you should be able to tap into it
For the small amount an LED light would draw it won't make a blind bit of difference

To use the Denali B6 Brake Light on your 2021 BMW RT, you do not necessarily need the CanSmart or HexCan controller if you're only interested in the extra brake light functionality. These controllers are required Rolling Mill Bearing for advanced features like flashing lights or customization options. Without the controller, you should be able to install the brake light, but you’ll miss out on the full range of programmable features.
