just about starts
Searched the forum but not finding anything. I brought my 2009 R1200RT home to Canada after riding the winter in Arizona. 5000 km on a trailer. Unloaded bike at home and tried to start. Battery was low so I charged but still wouldn't start. Would turn over nicely and there would be perhaps enough ignition to kick starter out but would not run. Thought battery was bad as it was several years old so replaced with new battery. Still same problem. It turns over well and kicks in but will not run. I get enough of a detonation to kick starter out but will not run from there. Gas should be OK, I have added fresh but am considering draining and replacing entirely. Maybe plugs? IDK and would appreciate any constructive thoughts. Thanks.

Re: just about starts
It's always one of three things: gas, spark, and air. What you describe sounds like a fueling issue. You can confirm gas and spark by pulling a spark plug. If you're getting gas in the cylinder you'll smell it in the cylinder. Connect the plug to the lead and turn then engine over. If you see a spark then that's not the issue.
