My first "real" bike was a Honda super 90 completely beat to hell with a pillow bungee corded over the battery box for a seat. Had to bump start it to get going. A lot of work for an 11 year old kid. I didn't care, it had gears and a clutch and could barely get out of it's own way. Next was  Honda PA 50 moped, then a Malagutti 50 cross. Then a Kawasaki g5 100, Yamaha dt 175, Yamaha xs 500e, Kawasaki gpz 550, Suzuki gsxr 1100 and now the '11 rt. I've had quite a few dirt bikes as well. I wish we would have had a cbx 750 bol d'or replica here in the states.

My first bike was a BSA Bantam D14 Trials bike (I was 12 yrs old). I competed in trials until I was 40. Refused to enter over 40's- clearly in denial. Had too many trials bikes to list. 1st road bike Yamaha DT175mx bought new in December 1980. Kept it 7yrs before some scumbag stole it. Other bikes include Kawasaki's, bmw GS's, F800 ST (great little bike but plagued with major factory faults) lots of RT's & the 2014 LC. And a twin cyclinder Bruggs & Stratton ride on mower but looking to trade it in for a Huskvana front deck with mulcher:)

I'll stick with the 750, looks like the 850 didn't appear until 1980, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamaha_XS750.

Once owned a Yammy Diversion 600 bought new in 1994. Called in the local BMW dealer after about 18 months  ownership and took an 1100RT for a quick test ride.  I was amazed to suddenly discover I'd spent all that time riding around on a pile of s--t.

Yes it was the 750 (1978 silver). The guy on the right was the owner, sadly he was killed in an avoidable accident on that very bike within a year. The other bike which I was on was a Honda 500/4.
The trip was basically a run down the Route Napoleon and a week camping along the Riviera.
Happy days, but have to admit that the lack of sensible protective gear other than helmets makes me shudder a bit.

Yes, CB550, there were a few "500" Hondas around at that time, this model identified by 4 pipes and 4 exhausts, but around 1978 an alternative came out with 4 into one. The gradual decline of multi exhausts to 4 or 2 into one, was something I never liked.
