Saturday 00:04am received a call from my mum-in-laws care home in Manchester as i'm one of two emergency numbers. Answered the call and they hung up, tried calling back but no success. Being mum is 99 years old and it's the care home at 00:04am one does think the worst. Tossed and turned until around 04:00 and finally fell asleep. 06:10am the care home calls again, this time they speak to me and advise me the call is to ask my opinion of the standards of care being provided to mum. The lady acknowledged they had called at 00:04m but thought that to be an unreasonable hour yet 06:10am was a reasonable hour......are you absolutely effing serious you numpty.....really!!.....was I justified in being ever so slightly pissed off or whatDoctor T wrote: Sun Mar 02, 2025 12:28 pm A sleepless night for me. Had the Police and Ambulance knock on my door 4 times in the night. Each time they wanted to look around the house. By 6am wasn't worth going to bed. You would have thought by the 2nd time each of the services would have worked out is was crank calls. Hope no one really needed them each time they got sent to us.
Last week 2 doors down had takeaways delivered to them but they never ordered them. bloody kids![]()

Most of my family were and still are serving our lands. I think it is terrible how some are treated after leaving. No support or help for ex members suffing from things they have been made to do or have seen. Unlike the USA that has the VA that helps ex service men and women. Most Yanks are proud of these people.LochiesDad wrote: Sun Mar 02, 2025 5:04 pm On a much brighter note, I set up my tent and sleeping bag for night 1 of 5 for the Great Tommy Sleep Out through the British Legion to raise awareness of the challenges our ex-forces ladies and gents face being homeless. I had set a target of £100 but have now gone above £600 and am both humbled and proud to do my bit to help those who have done their bit to keep all of us safe when perhaps we don't even recognise or acknowledge what they have done for us. Being ex Royal Navy perhaps i'm biased however it hurts to see our own service women and men go homeless and hungry when others receive so much more for so much less.....didn't mean to rant![]()
Winter hacks ??, they look mint to me
FFS I’m glad I live down here out the way of all that shit, unbelievable. Saying that when I feel like shit I’d be glad of the ambulance crew knocking at my door!!.Doctor T wrote: Sun Mar 02, 2025 12:28 pm A sleepless night for me.
