MOT's and serviced today, booked in for 08.30, I went to start the bike at 07.50, nothing, no life whatsoever. Plugged the Optimate into the din socket, not charging. Tried a jump start power pack, turned over once then nothing. I hooked the Optimate direct to the battery and after 90 minutes the bike started, it's been fine ever since. The battery was replaced in October.
Mark in Synter Shrewsbury was accommodating and got the bike booked in after 11.30 MOT he had waiting.
On those newer bikes are you supposed to switch ignition on and off "to open can bus or something" to allow charging?

We had a club ride to a State Park 120 miles away down nice, twisty, country roads! At 80 miles in, TPS told me that my brand new rear tire was going flat quickly. With lots of help from the other guys, we got the spike of bone (Bone!?!) out, put in a plug, and pumped it back up. One of the other guys stayed with me as I rode cautiously home with a very slow leak. Two refills of air, and I got home.
Now, to figure out what to do about my tire!
I've never had a bike with TPS before. The more I ride this bike, the more I appreciate it!!
Usually, I have my own tire patch kit and pump on the bike. But, for some reason, it was all on my Suzuki VStrom. So, do I put all that stuff back on the BMW and sell the VStrom, or just buy another patch kit and pump?

Replaced rear brake pads. It was easier than on a bicycle!
Still there was a smidge over 1mm left
I couldn't see the coolant level in the inspection window. The first time I've removed the side fairing, and I was over the level.
Just to get the new tyres and I am ready for two weeks in Spain!

If you shine torch from front between forks you can see coolant level.

I agreed to buy a 48 year old bike yesterday, a Honda CB550F2 Four, it needs some work, ie 3&4 carbs flood, replace the coils, leads & plugs, find and refit an original headlight.

Finally got round to re blacking the trim on my Sprinter.Did the 1st coat(Wurth bumper dye)then it started spitting with rain
Considering how far it had gone grey(you can see the footwell for comparison)I think the 1st coat has done well, will do the 2nd coat later in the week.
I use this product on all black plastic, including on my bikes, works an absolute treat.

Sky looked clear, needed to pop into town briefly so took OH's CB125 which doesn't, irritatingly, have a waterproof oversuit in the top box as I discovered when I came out of the shops to semi-biblical rain. No fairing either.
I'd quite forgotten just how wet rain can be.

I love the inspiration that 2 front wheels can give. The Niken I test rode was brilliant in the rain.

I had a 550/4 K something for a short while. Horrible chocolate brown colour. I thought it wasn't as good as the 400/4 when Honda made a real quality bikes before the penny counters got in.
