I do wish the gauge was digital as the speed digits are replaced with sound system info when on; but of course never the tach.
On Qu'noS it is in kellicams per hour.

UK versions have both marked but in Europe models they only have KPH ones.

To the best of my knowledge on the 2014+ RT supplied to Europe that also only has KPH.

Yup aware of this. Always have digital speed displayed in the centre panel on my RT. Problem is it cannot be changed to KPH. If BMW gave up analogue speedo then they would have to have digital speed in both MPH/KPH. It has always seemed to me that the most readable display is digital speed and analogue RPM.

No it wasn't. I'm amused that German bikes have KPH only displayed, whereas UK bikes have MPH/KPH displayed on the analogue speedo. Do US models have MPH/KPH. Do Canadian models only have KPH. It just seems to me that analogue speedos are out of date and hard to read, especially if you cross borders. My R1 back in 2000 had a nice big digital speedo with an analogue rev counter and a button next to it to change MPH to KPH. Simple.

Changing the subject heres a crazy idea. K16GT big heavy bike smooth engine, RT light bike but with a boxer twin which some folk don't like, new K16GT still heavy 319 Kilos. How about a smooth 4 cylinder bike in the middle of the weight and size say 290 kgs. I know you could call it K13GT !! Shame they are letting the K13 bikes go.

These days it must cost next to nothing to add a digital speedometer and to make it switchable to KPH.  My car does it and didn't cost a whole lot more than an RT

Quite and you don't have the cost of making different dials for different markets.

I wish BMW would bring out a K1300GT. 290kg about 150 to 160bhp would be fine with me! You never know; they've only recently discontinued the K1300S. Maybe something is in the pipeline around a new 1300cc engine?

They dumped the K1300GT in 2011 as it clashed with the 1600, so don't hold your breath. The 1300S is still listed by BMW Motorrad UK.

Levisp, for a trip to Canada I painted bugs on my speedo at 40, 80, 120 & 160 kph so I could just glance down and not tax my brain with the math.

Good plan but on a premium motorcycle its bonkers you have to resort to such antics.

What's wrong with using your GPS .  Even with both scales on the UK ones I always change the Nav V to KPH on European trips.

Whats wrong with a bit of mental arithmetic. Converting from KPH to MPH is easy

Nothing providing you have a Nav V.
