How about a clip on adaptor, less chance of losing air.

thanks fellas for all the input, I think that I might invest in the forecourt converter/pedal cycle look alike adaptor, but will still carry the compressor. Cheers.

I never use garage pumps. I check the tyres on all our bike at least every two weeks using a hand pump at home. If I am touring I carry a small hand pump and pressure gauge with me.
