Sorry, late to the party.  Congrats on the new RT!  I really enjoy mine.


Did you consider an XR?  I can get 200 miles out of a tank, it's more comfortable than my RT and a heck of a lot faster.  But, 2-up is not really an option and wind protection is nothing compared to the RT (but coming from an R, it would have been a solid improvement).

I tried an S1000XR the other day on a dealers lot. After struggling to get on it, I found that my legs were not long enough to get it upright off its side-stand. By the time it was lowered it would have the same suspension travel as my current RT!
