I thought the same Steve but be interesting to see one in the flesh, I don’t hate it as much as the mock ups but won’t be buying one anyway!.

I rather like it, except, perhaps, for the black nose.

They've not been too ambitious with the pricing either.

I'll be interested to try a demo bike whenever that may become available.

What’s the max carrying capacity on this 1300 ?, 1.4kg lighter wheels….. does that mean they are now made of light chocolate instead of dark

The fact that the wheels are going to be lighter made me wonder how they’ll achieve this, given that it’s fairly easy to bend or cause a flat spot on the rim with any of the huge and ever increasing numbers of pot holes that blight our roads.

Either way it’s a bit of a moot point for me as I can neither afford a new RT, nor do I think they’re aesthetically desirable enough to want one.

The pegs look pretty high, and the more forward riding position…. I’ll be interested to see how the bars are adjustable though ?.

I will like to see one, as the GS's look better in real life, though the panniers are smaller, even when extended and that's an extra option, so that's less space already, 2kg heavier, though that's nothing in the grand scheme of things, I won't be buying one, as I've just bought a 2024 reg one, 5k off the price of a new r1250rt, my last bike was 8 year old, the one before was 17 years old, so I'll be keeping the RT for a long time, all being well.

I was on the fence about the new RT. I considered waiting and getting one instead of the 1250. I'm mostly glad i didn't. I think it's a nicely designed bike, but not my taste. The rear is giving Suzuki Burgman vibes, and the caved in nose looks a little off at some angles. Don't love the new panniers either. The current gen system cases (which I've had on half a dozen bikes) are really the gold standard for me.

If they'd shaved off a considerable amount of weight, I could have gotten over those small niggles, but since it's actually coming in heavier, I'm happy to wait a few years. It also doesn't appear CarPlay is an option on the new one either - which would have been a real selling point for me.

So far the I'm loving the new GS and RS, but I'm not wow'd by the styling changes to the Adventure, RT, R and the NineT. They've clearly chosen a very angular 80s look across the board in their design aesthetic, it's not for me.

You’d never waste the words ‘graceful’ or ‘pleasing to the eye’ on it would you? It looks like it was designed by a 14 yr old kid who’s been subjected to too many episodes of Transformers.



I’ve just read that a top spec will be around the £30k mark, if that’s correct I wish the new buyers the best of luck getting insurance, as there are reports of some dealers advising prospective buyers of the 1300 GS/A to confirm they can get insurance before buying.

I specced one up yesterday with most things except radio at 23k
