Taken out by a car today on the A5 around Shrewsbury. The car in the left lane on the roundabout at the last second turned right. Left mirror ripped off, most of the faring panels damaged, crash bar pushed into the engine cover, damage to that too, scrap to the rear of the swinging arm around the axle, top box ripped off the rack.
I'm OK apart from a graze on the inside of my knee and a shoulder that is getting sore. Off to the minor Injuries unit now
Its good (for the want of a better word ) that you came away with minor injuries, as has been said many times before the bike can be replaced.
Hope that you heal up over the next few days.
I was in the hospital last night as my shoulder got worse. Soft tissue injury to the right shoulder, possible small fracture also.
The video evidence from the Innovv K3 is damning, the car is in the left lane looking like it is going straight on, then suddenly turns right across the dual carriageway entrance as I was preparing to over take when back on the dual carriageway. I have sent this to Carol Nash call handlers.
As it’s likely to be the last sunny day for the foreseeable future I want out for a ride. Sad it wasn’t quite as warm as yesterday but it was dry… mostly… except for the bit where I found that Farmer Giles had dragged about half an acre of wet mud out onto the road.
The end result was about 90 mins of bike cleaning when I got back.
Had fun day changing front shock for a Tractive unit. 3rd shock so 3rd time lucky i hope, as dont fancy doing again although would be a lot easier after practicing.
Get well soon Glen.
