3 month warranty extension

Post by chrisvh »

There is an unsubstantiated rumour on a UK site that BMW UK are offering a 3 month warranty extension for recalled bikes. Apparently a letter has been leaked. Interesting!

Well, i'd have thought that would be the least that BMW would give, and which means they predict that our RT's will be fixed by the end of this month.

Wonder if that will apply to bikes that never left the showroom

To answer my own question..  As I've heard nothing from BMW since day one of the recall and the bike never left the showroom.  Then I guess there will be no extended warranty for my bike ?

I think it will depend if the bike was registered before it was recalled.  If not you will have a full 2 year warranty from the date that it is so you wont loose out

I have been told today that the 3 months warranty extension is really a 3 months goodwill extension.  It will be interesting to see if this includes an extra 3 months emergency assistance and if we will be able to take out extended warranty at the 27 month point not 24 months.
