2nd Bike

Post by lenho »

Using my 2012 RT as I do commuting to work and a couple of hundred miles on the motorway each weekend I was looking for a 2nd bike for a bit of fun to ride around the lake district just minutes away from where I live.  I was looking at a smaller lighter BM but eventually opted for a complete contrast to my trusty favourite.  In the end I decided on a Harley sportster to cruise around the roads for the spring summer and autumn.  What I paid would have been about the same as I would have to upgrade my 2012 to a wet head but I love my RT and having the harley as a 2nd bike is a great combination. Do you have a second bike and what is it.

QI am looking for a used Triumph Scrambler that I can paint and outfit like a Steve McQueen ISDT bike. Thought I found one as a winter project but the owner just couldnt part with it.  They are out there, I just have to find one!

My second bike. One dead Ducati. Rear blow out. Hit something that put a 1 inch split in the centre of the tyre. Got bored waiting for recovery so took a pic.

I had a HD SuperGlide Custom for awhile and really liked it! It made for a great dayrider, but I didn't really have room for 2 and didn't ride it enough so it had to go.

Wish I could have kept it though, it was perfect for Cruising on those perfect summer days.

My 2nd bike is a 2004 Honda VFR800. Completely different riding experience. I got it so my daughter can go riding with me.

Seem to have a blue thing going on there - Wow what a fantastic paring.  I went for the Harley sportster to cruise around the lake district (UK).  Weather pretty good there too.

A nice pair.  The R was only launched in UK a couple of weeks ago.  Wonder what colour your car is ?

I had a test ride on the R sport version (not my colour scheme though) at Jefferies sale day where they introduced the 2015 R model.  What a performer - the acceloration nearly pulled my arms out of their sockets at first but then got used to it.  Very tempting but not this time round. Great bike though.
