Go Pro camera

Post by beemerbaz »

I bought a Go Pro today, now the learning begins as I can't use it until the micro sd card arrives.

Does anyone have one mounted to an RT, if so where are the best mounting points ?

When I use mine I place it on the left fairing just under the roundel. I use the suction cup. Ive never had an issue with it falling off but I suppose there is always a first time. Some people use a small string or fishing line to secure it on the chance it does come loose.

I tried the windshield but it shakes too much. I dont like any additional weight on my helmet so I dont do that either.

Im not really good with mine so others may have better advice. When it does work for me its really cool video. Most of my issues with it are operator error!

I have the Gopro 3+ and the batteries last about two hours with mine.
I was born with nothing and unfortunately I still have most of it left.

Mine has worked for about 3 hours at a time. Im not sure what card I have in mine. Ill take it with me this summer but will likely use it sparingly. I just dont like keeping up with it. Seems it sometimes takes away from the ride.

We will likely use it at the north rim of the Grand Canyon for a sunset off teh bike on a tripod, and on the Bear Tooth highway. Maybe in Yellowstone but Im not going to get too wound up about it. Anns never been to the National Parks so We are going to concentrate on just seeing the sights and making memories.

If you get good with it you can make some incredible videos. I wish you the best of luck.

I have a Drift Ghost. ( very similar ). I use a suction cup on the fairing. Also use coiled Kevlar lanyard attached to suction cup mount for peace of mind. It has never shifted in use.

Cheers Stelyn, I even tried rotating it then re-uploading it to no avail! It must be in the settings/properties as it's an iPhone image. After 6 hours, the video is still uploading to youTube. The only problem with the GoPro is great image quality but resultant large file sizes lol.

Steve, just the bit between Calais and Verdun as it was only a quick 3 night blast.

Hi 7vwh, enjoyed the video  ;) ,  now looking forward even more to mid May when I do Normandy .  Seems like at times you were in `Warp' mode rather than dynamic.

No pressure then on your fellow riders,  having a `Class One'  following  AND  recording their ride !!!.  Citadell de Montmedy looked interesting, glad you enjoyed it.      :be happy:

Video 10 out of 10      ;)

It would appear the other members of the group were making good progress. Enjoyed the footage. I have only ever used the shuttle once when it was first opened the ride from the entrance was long I thought you was riding to Dover.
