I found a guy selling a BMW Navigator V locally.  I'm new to GPS units; is there anything I should be aware of to look for? Any way to determine if it's stolen?

When they are registered new with Garmin they ask for an Email address.  Ask him what it is. You could then I suppose  contact Garmin and ask them to confirm that if you also get its serial number.

Good thinking RTman10 when you consider the price of the Nav V and it is stolen some poor dude is out of pocket. Not to mention some scroat picking up several hundred quid.

That's why I don't want to buy a GPS that's possibly stolen
