I am intending to carry out an oil change to the final drive on my 2008 RT.  Can anyone please assist me in finding out what type and grade of oil to use and also the quantity I should put back in.  Is there a site I can access to find this information?

If I remember correctly, the Final Drive Oil on my 2007 RT was changed at the first 600 miles Running-in Check & then in for life.

On the later 2010 & 2012 Twin Cam Models, the FD Oil was changed at the first Service as above, then every 12,000 miles or 2 years.

The oil used in all cases was Castrol Syntrax Longlife 75W-90, (Formerly SAF-XO 75w-90), quantity 180ml in the TC.

Spot on David. Not sure I like the idea of lifetime fluid in the final drive. That little bevel gearbox has a lot of work to do. The oil has to be good. IMHO I think its worth changing it when doing the engine oil every 6K or annually. If you are a high mileage rider its worth thinking about especially as it costs only £3 in oil. Cheap insurance.

MotorWorks are selling Castrol Syntrax Longlife 75w-90 for £15.26 per litre, https://www.motorworks.co.uk/vlive/Shop ... 5_30_DA_70.

As above, 1 litre will do 5 FD oil changes or 1 FD plus 1 Gearbox oil change (every 24,000 miles or 2 years, after the first year) on a TC.
