Newbie

Post by Oldgoat »

Hello all
I've just acquired a 2006 R1200RT, my first boxer. It's off the road at the moment while I check it over and deal with some of the cosmetics as it's done 118,000 miles - is this a record? I have a K100 that has done more miles, but the Ks do have a reputation for durability.
A K1200RS and a Honda CB750 complete my little stable.
I'm in South Bucks in the UK.

That's  about 13K a year so nothing really excessive.  As long as the bike has a reasonable service history you should be OK

California highway patrol keeps theirs for 160,000 miles, most dislike their Harley replacements.

Meaning they dont like the BMW they dont like the HD?

I cant recall where, but I saw that the CHP maintenance costs for HD were substantially higher than that of the BMW
