Bmw system 6 bluetooth helmet query !!!

Hi all,
I wondered if anybody could help with a query.
A friend that I ride out with has a system 6 bluetooth helmet.
I am trying to find a bluetooth headset which I could connect to his and allow us to have bike to bike comms.

Even if you can find another type of headset to connect with the BMW one which I doubt its range is only a few feet so bike to bike would not be possible.

We have a pair of BMW comm systems, my wife rides her own bike, I our case the intercom function works up to 1/4 mile if both batteries are fully charged
my helmet is paired to bike, GPS and her helmet
Hers GPS and my helmet
Not a perfect system but still workable

Wow.  1/4 mile range.  I've had trouble getting them to connect across the shop car park.  Full power probably the difference.

Thanks for the help so far. At the moment I am using a £25 bt interphobe from China.
It connects ok and has a range off about  500 metres. Whic to be honest would be ok but the problem is they don't come back into sync without pressing a button, which is impossible with gloves on.

Any more help / advise welcome.
