I can easily confirm it is an amazing part of the world to see on a bike !!!! definitely worth doing but if you are camping then before May or after late September or the dreaded midge will eat you alive !!!! trust me !!! otherwise tons of accommodation to meet all budgets

Got to agree, top roads.  I have ridden and driven them many times over the years.  The part from Ullapool south through Torridon to Applecross, Lochcarron and onto Achnasheen is one of my favourite 100 miles of all time!

I may have a go again at the end of June like this, anyone fancy it?

Friday:  Home to Inverness
Saturday:  Inverness up over the top and down to Ullapool (318 miles - Google)
Sunday:  Ullapool to Inverness (198 miles - Google)
Monday:  Inverness to Home

It was on Countryfile TV programme a week or so ago. Fantastic biking, not been up there on a bike for 3 years now and maybe have another expedition next year. Me and wife visit midge free Barra (in car) every year for last 22 years. Lurvvv Scotland.

Looking at the NC500 route & trying to find somewhere which is approx. halfway, (distance & time),  have found Kylesku Hotel, http://www.kyleskuhotel.co.uk/, it looks stunning.

We stayed there in 2014 and really recommend the hotel.  You can eat in the bar or restaurant.

The Kylesku Hotel is ace, you get well looked after in there, we used to fill the place on some of the tripos i used to organise for the Aprilia lads/lassies.

Great selection of single malts and wicked langoustines

If you are anywhere near that signpost you are in biking nirvana

This place is soooooooo tranquil you don't want to go back to reality again

As you can see we had a blast at the Kylesku
