True about the sap. The choice is often either a) park in the sun to bake in Alabama heat; or b) park in shade under one variety of offending tree or another.

Small world Mercator, an old biking friend of mine who I toured South of France with in 1970's now lives and works in Pelham. From what he tells me - everything you say is spot on.

Yeah, different problems for different folks. We are lucky to get more riding time due to weather. Although, it was awfully chilly when left out this morning. I've decided 38F is just colder than I care to ride.

Aerostich makes a light weight one that is water resistant. It compresses down into it's own bag the size of a soft ball which is nice for traveling.

Nelson Rigg makes a good half cover one that can cover your bike to keep off the hot sun, tree sap, bird poop or inquisitive nerdowells. It is great to have on day trips or even an over night when you don't need a full cover. It is light grey so it does not absorb the heat.

Does anyone know of a UK (or EU) distributer for the aerostich cover? Can't find anything on google and the shipping costs from the US are quite steep!

One of the best reasons to cover your bike at overnight stops is it keep curious eyes off your bike, miscrets are looking for a easy mark, just might pass up your wheels thinking its a "wing"
