Where do I find a listing of the shop tools recommended for a water cooled RT?
Specifically  tdc that I understand clicks into a hole when TDC is reached.
Valve clearance/shim tools
ignition timing tools
wheel/tire balancing adapters
there maybe tools I have not thought of that are factory specifi to this model/era

I see ignition coil pulling tools, front axle tool, paddock jacks

Is this list from RealOEM any help, http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showpar ... Id=83_0661

This thread about Tools for valve timing an valve clearance might also be useful, https://1200rt.com/index.php/topic,1837 ... l#msg14392

Thanks, bottom link led to some very helpful info....however the dealer listing for BMW motorcycle service tools remains a mystery.
This set is on my purchase today list, found at a BMW GS forum.,

So far, the only tools I have needed (aside from a good set of regular metric allan keys, torx sockets, screwdrivers, etc.) is:

A set of feeler gauges (for measuring valve clearance)
BMW Oil filter wrench
14mm thin wall spark plug socket (amazon.com - $9)
Spark plug coil puller tool
front axle removal tool

I don't find the RT to be much more complicated to work on than most other bikes.

Bmw has lots of speciality tools for working on their various model bikes, for the he mechanic that only owns one, they may not be practical
#1 on my list is a electric screw driver that accepts torx bits
#2 is a GS911 tool, money well spent
#3 a proper bmw filter wrench, some nice lazer cut ones made to fit BMW filters,
#4 Mark Parns wheel adapters and front axel tool
If you already have a set of tools like most of us do your set

Many of the tools supplied by BMW are designed only to be supplied to their workshops and are  auto issued when models are launched.  These tools are not listed or made available to us mortals.  On Real OEM for the LC there are some listed under Special Tools but the price will be very high.
Once upon a time you got a tool kit with your bike but this stopped in 2005.  I made a fuss then and was given a set.  I still have it and in most cases everything in it still works even though it was originally designed for the 1150,  It's part no is 71 11 7 699 568. Real OEM shows it's contents.

Don't you mean one scanner a double ended screwdriver and a bit of plastic.  I suppose 3 items make a set.  Think I remember on my 1600 it was just the screwdriver.
