Unless you just washed it, and some soap solution got stuck in the hole, clean it off and see if it reappears, at least then you will know if it's leaking something or not.

its coolant from the pump shaft.  They can seep for a couple of thousand miles but the coolant level normally stays up.  Dealers have been told not to swap them unless there's a proper leak.  Best bet is don't clean it off and pop into your dealer for them to decide. Going up mountains makes it happen as well.

Thank you I just sent the pic to my dealer salesman to see if he can get it over to the service dept.

Seems to be a not uncommon fault. My 2015 1200t-lc developed the problem at about 900 miles. Dealer at first said it was nothing important, but then agreed to replace the water pump and seal.

Don't worry about it - it's just the bike sweating a bit and is a sign you're working it good and hard...

My dealer service TECH manager said to wipe it clean and if it continues they will replace the water pump under warranty.......Why the heck is there a hole in the side of the engine case makes no sense to me.

If the hole wasn't there any seepage past the seal could end up in the oil.  The K 1600 has same thing on its water pump and even though it's a totally different design they often do the same thing.  Then it ends up on the exhaust.  At least on the RT it's easily cleaned off.
