Hight...

Post by Ventura »

Got my first ever BMW 3 weeks ago.... Trying to adjust after many years of riding cruisers/ touring machines.
I was wondering if there is away to lower my Standard seat hight...? I'd like to have it 1/2"-3/4" lower for extra stability... :wonder: ??? ??

Depending on year, adjustment at front of seat can lower it
BMW has a low seat option, eBay may be your friend finding it

Attach point on front of seat can be reversed, if it's on high now
Low seat is a option on 14 and up bikes, same seat less padding
Other option is custom seat builder

The Dealer showed me how it can be adjust to Higher position.. Now it is on Standard.
I read that BMW makes a Lower seat (?) , so does Corbin for double the cost...!?

BMW low seat brings the height down to 760 mm.  I have a 29 in inside leg and have no trouble with it.  The likes of Corbin might show the same height but most are made wider for comfort so end up higher than expected.

Just bought a low seat from BMW - £260 ish.

It's better than the standard seat, but if you're used to a cruiser, it will still feel high as most cruisers, including my own, are very low relative to tourers.

Sargent makes a good seat including a low option for most BMWs.

A couple of months ago I tried the low sargent seat, it wasn't for me but as it wasn't a special order it was returned for a full refund, so I can't fault them for that side of the service, just the seat wasn't for me.

Nobby, Do you feel a real difference between the standard and the low seat from BMW ?? The dealer told me that most of their customers - prefer the Sargent one ...!?

It was the lower one but I found it far too hard for me, and I got it from Sargent in the UK.

That is the flag for England as opposed to the one for the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland ;)
