Well when I bought the RT you all said I would sell my Harley. I took a deposit on Tuesday, so bye bye Harley and I will be a RT owner only Need a new wardrobe now!

Sold my Harley Road King to buy the 1200 RT-lc. Somewhat unsure at the time if I was doing the right thing. after 17 years on big Harleys. However felt that aged 72, I needed to move to a lighter , more manageable bike in order to continue and hopefully extend my motorcycling career.
After a lot of research, I bought the 1200 RT-lc new. Absolutely delighlted with it, It is light(er) to handle and a joy to ride. Have just completed a week's tour to the south of France, which has re-confirmed I made the right decision. In many ways I wish I had made the move earlier.

Agree about the weight, I gave the Harley a spruce up today after not riding it for 3 months. Couldn't believe how heavy it felt compare to the RT. Mines a CVO Road King, will be sorry to see it go, not as old as you though, I'm a sportily 58

An RT at 58. BMW are definitely broadening their customer base. Then again got my first one 54.

Had a R80RT at 33 and another one at 37, was a baby then

My last ride was a CVO ultra limited. After a while I realized the only box it ticked was comfort - but even then there were issues. So I just bought a new RT 2 weeks ago to replace it. No comparisons apart from both bikes having 2 wheels and exhorbitant prices for branded gear. I did get a couple of Sysem 6 helmets which are worth every cent.

Oh yes. Supposed to get RS, but I love comfort. Not every young fella has to ride superbikes at millions mph :D

Insurance must have been a bit of fun. I remember BMW not quoting under 25. Maybe times have changed, just like the RT.

At 67 years old, I have also set my HD Ultra aside. My new 2016 RT is like riding back in my dirt bike days. I just completed a 4000 mile trip from Louisiana to the east coast and I am now a BMW rider. I will need to completely clean out my closet of HD stuff and re stock it with BMW stuff.
