Thoughts on 09 with low suspension

Post by Vryoung »

Hello all,
I'm looking at a 09 with the factory lowered suspension. How does this affect handling? Problems with ground clearance? Any problems with this model year I need to be aware of?

2 things you can't have and one you can.
Can't have heated seats(I think) and definitely no ESA.
You can get the pegs down, quite easily.
Probably better off with a standard one with a low seat.
I only have a 29 inside leg and managed OK.
Not many low ones around or sold so resale value is limited.

Thanks rtman.
When you say you can get the pegs down easily did you mean dragging them or moving them?  As an older rider I'm concerned about getting on the bike. I am not as limber as I once was and wearing all my riding even less so. I've survived 45 years and so inclined to push as hard as I once did. That being said its nice to have the clearance if you enter a corner too hot.

Bit of bump in the road when cornering and they often touch.

I own a 09 with the factory lowered suspension, never had a problem with dragging foot begs, I did it only once while cornering hard with the wife on the back, I ride fairly had but not like a idiot.

I bought it 2 weeks ago and haven't had a chance to ride it yet. Parked it in our new garage but had to go back to work 500 miles away. Will soon find out when I retire at the end of the month.
