Little Arrow ????

If I use the GSP when in Dynamic mode and engage Warp Drive, I tend not to be looking at the instrument panel.........  :not speak:

I have GSP on my Sept 14 bike.
What little "arrow" are we talking about?

You can set the bike to show a green up arrow next to the gear indicator to say when the bike thinks you should change up a gear  ;)

My local BMW dealer told me the 'pinking' type noise was from the cam chain tensioner and nothing to worry about!

Maybe he's referring to the cam chain rattle at start up. When you first start the bike you can hear a rattle that only lasts for a few seconds. The cam chain tensioner uses oil pressure to tension the chain.

Sorry, getting back to the little green arrow.
I can find no reference to this in my riders manual.
Is it standard with shift assist?

Got into the menu and Settings\Vehicle\Shift Indicator

No idea if it is model specific.

Turned mine off, it just annoyed me. If I remember it wants you to shift up far too early. Another gimmick IMHO.

Many thanks.
It was set to "off" which is why I never saw the arrow.
It will be interesting whether I find it of any value.
Worth a try.

Remember its throttle responsive.  Ride hard it will indicate later and vice versa.

Found it.
Very strange, was in 4th and about to change down and the arrow was suggesting upshift.
Don't think I'll bother with it.
Do I really need telling when ton change gear? I think NOT.
Thanks for the info.

Sounds like you were as impressed as a Euro debate.

You have to ask why they would install it if it gives you false info all the time.  And as its been there for over 2 years now why haven't they done an update to "fix" it.
Must admit mine was turned off as soon as I discovered how to.

Thanks again to all who responded. The latest from BMW tech is....the cams have a compression release lobe that is engaging. He thought that is what I'm hearing.I know S&S builds cams like this for big displacement Harley engines but did not know BMW was doing it.I'll just keep pounding on it.Thanks again
