Can't speak to the Sargent seat. With 6845 miles on the odometer, I am riding the stock seat in the high position (helps reduce forward slide under deceleration) with a "Bead Rider" beaded cushion to prevent sweat pooling during our Florida summer days. http:///www.beadrider.com . As to boots; I have had several pairs of Tour Master  WP Air 2's, which are great until they break in. Once broken in, they feel too thin and flexible to offer any real support or protection. I went looking for a boot that would provide both comfort and protection over the long haul. I ended up choosing Chippewa Rally boots. Comfortable out of the box, these are the real deal. Just proves you get what you pay for. Although in your case i'd be willing to bet the BMW boots were more $$. Check them out at http://http://workboots.com/chippewa-boots-12-engineer-rally-boots-black-odessa.
Stay safe, enjoy the ride. 8)

My BMW boots from about 10 years ago came with quite thin but armoured soles.  A couple of years ago the gear protection rubber came unstitched but they were still 100% waterproof.  I replaced them with a pair of BMW All round boots. Heavy leather, Gortex and a thick sole. Took about a week to bed in but should now be good for the next 10 years.  Cost in UK £163.
