Should be picking it up in two weeks while they get protective film fitted and a high level brake light.
Coming from a F800GS, so a bit of a jump.
I have so many questions I want to ask but will try and keep it to a minimum for now.

Must have been the one they wanted to sell me last month.

Found it didn't have certain options available, but loved the colour done by 8Ball.

Found Surety (Conmarket Insurance) was best price as part of IAM offer for advance riders.

Only cost me £95 which takes me up to July 2017.

What options did you want that it didn't have?
I was born with nothing and unfortunately I still have most of it left.

The Iconic is only an Iconic because of its paint job and that had an option of 1.  They were full spec less keyless but with a matching top box.

Wasn't aware BMW was in the market for all these items 😀

Recommend any good web sites and instruction on fitting them.

Correct but other factors were also taken into account at the time.

Couldn't understand why BMW didn't fully spec these bike with all the extra on offer.

I'll ask again .... What extra would you want?

From my point of view (as I own one) it's fairly fully equipped.

Gear Shift Assistant Pro
Hill Start control
Electronic windshield
Electronic Suspension Adjustment
Three riding modes
Central locking
Heated grips
Heated seat
Alarm
Cruise control system
Colour coded panniers and top Case
Stereo Bluetooth radio with mp3 player
ABS
Traction control
Headlight pro

+ Loads of other bits I've no doubt forgotten

The dealer I bought mine from had an allocation of 6 or seven of these and still had a couple left after I bought mine

The Iconic is only missing one item that is a factory fit and that's keyless.  All the other bits you can fit are available from dealers like engine guards.

I didn't want the audio system but I did want keyless, so my 2017MY was cheaper than the Iconic.
I did test ride the Iconic and it was great but, as with everything, we all have our individual preferences .....

He should have said it's got too many extras except for the suspect keyless option.

Iconic doesn't have Cornering ABS which 2017 bikes do.
