There are no pictures of the protection kit for the cases but on the BMW site they are called Impact Ptotection for touring cases.  Your dealer will know all about them.
As you have a Nav V on order it's just pop it on and off you go, just about.  I have never found a need for an extension to the side stand as on level ground it doesn't lean over much anyway and its never dug in anywhere.

I had one for the 800GS as I felt that did need one. The foot on the RT also looked quite small so seemed like piece of mind for £30

In fact the RT doesn't lean enough, several have fallen off their side stand. For £30 I would have sold you some coke cans.

Thread about the RT's falling over, although I haven't experienced it, as I nearly always use the centre stand when possible

The centre stand isn't in great condition for a 2 year old bike.

Never heard of an LC tipping over right from the side stand.  They must have been left just about upright for that to happen.  Crazy stuff.

Just got a quote from BMW insurance of £839 to insure this.
Needless to say I will be hunting for a cheaper quote if possible.
Will try my current insurer first though!

I have just bought an Iconic and insured it with MCE as that who my Triumph Trophy was, so swapping bikes, so for the year it was £444 fully comp the increase over the Trophy being cause of the value.

My biggest problem is that I do not have a garage or driveway to keep it in or on.
Added to this I only passed my bike test three years ago and have only currently got two years no claims bonus.

Tried my current insurance company (Hastings) yesterday to replace the 800gs with the Iconic for the last 6 months of the policy. They wanted over £350 plus my compulsory went up to £500 and the voluntary excess to £350!!

I have 5 days free cover from BMW so will give the main insurance brokers a call next week.

I just want to spend this weekend riding.

Picked it up this morning ..... Wow!!

Managed to put 100 miles on it before I had to go home for my tea .. :-)

Still got lots of things on the bike to learn, like getting sound from the radio to the speakers.

Might take a run down to Brighton tomorrow to try and get used to it more.

Can't stop smiling

You should have got a small folded called Quick Manual for Menue and Audio System. It explains all the necessary buttons to press to work nearly all the systems.  The speakers on the bike are next to useless on the move. You will need either a Bluetooth or a wired system .

Will look into that ... Thanks

I just wanted everything to work the way I wanted right out of the box.

I need to slow down and read manuals etc ..... But I'm a man! ... We don't read manuals

Hmmm! You will need BT to be able to hear the music. You have tonight to do some reading.
