Kickstand Switch

I have a friend about a thousand miles from home and she is having trouble with her kickstand cut off switch. Anyone have an issue with this in the past. Hers is a 2012 RT Low. Im calling the dealer in Boise Idaho in the morning to see if he can help or has parts.

I had a recall on my 800gs for the kickstand switch last year.
No idea what the problem was but it was fixed under warranty.
It may be related.

They can suffer from corrosion. Would suggest a good soaking in something like WD40 . If that doesn't work it needs replacing.

I have a 2014 1200GS that there was a recall on that part a couple years ago, if it got wet, possible engine quitting.
