Final drive

Post by Hodge »

I bought a 2008 RT last year to see if the tourer suited me and me it.  Since then Crown wheel bearing has been replaced and now oil weep from said drive.  How many of you have had final drive problems and is this the norm.  Sure as hell don't want to live in the dealership 24/7

I've just traded in my 2013 RT with 34,000 miles on it. This was my 3rd RT and none had any problems with the final drive.
The first, a 2007 model had a rear wheel bearing replaced very early in it's life then ran without mechanical fault thereafter.
Hope you get it sorted and regain confidence in the bike - they're great to ride !  :)

Your second post on this I think.  Time to contact the dealer who fixed it recently.  In my 20 years of ownership I have only had one incident with a seal going.  Went one week after I traded it sat on the showroom floor.
