Good idea.  Give it month though. Some of us think slowly this time of the year.

Just to add, I've done a search for Tewksbury Premier Inn on the 15th and 22nd July, and it says FULL!! 😞

Why re run the vote if there is a winner?
I was born with nothing and unfortunately I still have most of it left.

We COULD re run a vote because it was NOT a binary choice like a certain referendum recently. There are some who have voted singulary like Bmth i think. If we then reduced it to just two possibly three then a re run would be representative of most peoples views including first or second choice. This method has been used for millennia.

That said I'm not really that passionate either way

Just to add my 3p's worth, although I voted for Ross on why I'm happy to travel anywhere within reason, happy to camp but I think that this would limit it to people who are already campers. If we could set the date that would help start the process. The 22nd July would be the first Saturday of the School holidays for some so I think the 8th or 15th July would be a safer bet. I also think that we should re run the vote with the top 2 / 3 to get the best turn out for all.

Looking forward to the Southern meet up this weekend in Brighton.

The initial idea for my choice of location (Lancaster),  was somewhere geographically fairly central within GB (mileage wise).

Taking on board the comments & suggestions of other locations, both Matlock or the NEC Birmingham would work as centres of England.
(Being central may attract more folks to attend.)

I'm happy to travel to any of the suggested locations.

We could always have more than one meet during the year, but how about trying to make this the first of what might become an annual event.

With the voting being so close for the Cotswolds (Tewkesbury) [5], NEC Birmingham [6], Ross on Wye [5] & Matlock [5], with agreement from others, I'd be happy to set up a new poll with only these 4 locations.

There's currently 4 votes for the other 3 locations, Lancaster, Bournemouth & the Cat & Fiddle Pub.
If these folks voted for one of the top 4 locations, the outcome may be different.

Yes, at the moment, the NEC Birmingham is "top of the pops", I don't want to "fudge the figures" & will be guided by others.

I would leave it for a week or two David and then reduce it.  Leave the new list on until after the new year then go for the most popular.  That will hopefully give folks long enough to get hotel booking well in advance and save some cash.  As mentioned before we need to steer clear of the school holiday period.

I was going to leave any changes until next week, after the Southern meet up (5th Nov.).

If folks are generally in agreement with having a new poll, I'll do it on Monday 7th Nov.

Not wanting to add to the complexity of getting this thing off the ground, but I think we need to pin down a date sooner rather than later.  I have a feeling this will be a biggest factor dictating whether people will attend, or not.

Once the venue has been decided, another poll could be set up with the choice of dates in July 2017.

There are five Saturdays, 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th.

The first to dates are the better IMHO; the others are getting too close to school holidays and therefore prices will be rising and availability substantially reduces.

Instead of the NEC, was this considered as a venue?
