If you do the old trip advisor thing, there are quite a few bars/restaurants within a short distance, we can taxi it. This Travelodge has a bar

The bike is best when touring of course.
I can't leave until the Saturday morning.  It was my intention to batter down the motorway for the meet up and then spend a few days meandering the back roads home.  Tewkesbury is just too many motorway miles for my enjoyment.

Sorry you can't make it John, perhaps we can head North one day.

Would be very happy to go back to Haltwhistle, the Centre of Britain hotel was fantastic, http://www.centreofbritain.co.uk/

Good job the Cat and Fiddle wasn't picked.  Apparently it's been shut since Dec 2014.  Just goes to show what an average speed camera system can do for you.

It was 2015 and not 2014 when it closed, it was open when I was there in 2015.

Interestingly the webcam is still working here

Your right Dec 15.  Road from the still working webcam looks very lonely. There are some reports from last Sep that it might reopen as a cafe.

The Cotswolds area was suggested as having some great roads.

Any recommendations?

David, I have PM you, I have a Gpx file of a route I did when me and some mates rode around some of the Cotswolds. If you PM your email I'll ping it over and you can look in Basecamp. Its easy to make a loop.
