A long weekend with people is OK. Try to stretch that into a week or longer and it's a recipe for a failed trip IMHO and from experience. Often the only thing we have in common are bikes and after a few days their lunacy starts to shine through (I'm sure they'd say the same of me!)

My top tips For Touring Eutopia (Not The Country!!)

Solo Riding with no Agenda -  :be happy:
Solo Riding with a Mate Solo riding with Agenda -  :be happy:
Pillion Riding with the Management with two night stop overs -  :be happy:
Pillion Riding with the Management and Mate with his Management with one night stop overs and high mileage days -:be happy:
Riding Solo or with Pillion in Groups -  :beee: :not speak:
