EWS Warning Suddenly Flashing Whilst Riding

Yesterday whilst riding my 2007 R1200RT the Display suddenly started flashing in large letters EWS alternating with all warnings  Enging  lights battery showing the the same time i was doing approx 100 kph at the time and after about a minute (I was unable to pull straight over due to the lane i was in) all the Displays Speedy rev counter and Main LCD screen blanked out completely although  the bike kept on going until  I could ipull over and did not stop the engine and could not see anything wrong as i was stopped the displays returned to normal so i kept on going  can any one give me a Idea as to what this may have been and what i need to look at.

I have two possibilities probably both wrong but only one solution.  There is an issue with the loop antenna  (the black ring round the ignition) or something has worked loose starting with the battery. 
If it was mine it would be a quick trip to my local dealer to see if the fault was recorded.
