I just plug my little compressor into the SAE plug that is used to charge the battery real easy.

Similar problems having brought a compressor with CanBus connector that took too much current.  Solution for me was to get an adapter that connected directly to the CTEK battery strap!  Luckily I found all this out when testing it not when needing it for real!  Peter

Update:- waterproof switch came with an inline fuse and I've connected and cable tied under the seat, tried my compressor and ......................hooray worked perfectly thanks guys for your helpbe
