Shouldn't be a problem if BP fuels as recommended by BMW are used.

I'm dead, always use Tesco. And the bike must be close to self destruct.

In the US Bmw's fuel injector cleaner is rebranded Chevron with Techron, the chevron brand costs half what dealer charges for there own brand
I try and put 4 ounces in my tank every fourth or fifth fillup, even though I try to only use chevron gas

It seem odd that a European company would be issuing technical bulletins with US colloquialisms such as "gas tank".
Maybe this was intended only for the US region because there were issues with the fuel available there?

Probably very true, the three members who have confirmed it's use are all based in the US.

Hmmm, I wonder whether this has more to do with the grades of domestic fuels available in various countries.  I think we established a few days ago that some countries 'stock' fuel may have a lower RON rating than others.  Here in UK, my dealer's never mentioned it.

You're right.  Definitely a third world problem.

RTman10 is correct about third world gas, on this side of the pond we are blessed with corn gas, winter and summer blends and a great deal more junk added to our fuel. Then there's California, where we get all the above in our fuel, plus the meddling politicians from Sacramento have added more restrictions on fuels, all in the name of saving the environment. The end result out west is fuel goes bad in a short time, were stuck using fuel stablizers on anything that sits for more than a couple months. Chevron Techron, Seafoam or several other additives keeps injectors clean, yes our gas is crap

I've used marvels mystery oil for last 10 years on my Busa, Bandit and now RT. Every 3rd or 4th tank I'd run a dose through. To be honest, I saw the benefit on my Bandit (had carbs). I had a sticky float in no1 (flooding), but after using it, never had a problem. I also used IPA during the winter, to stop carb freezing. I put a dose of IPA through the RT when she was low do drag through any water that might of been in the fuel. There was as she coughed and spluttered down the A3 for a pair of miles.

Since having problems with my 1981 Yamaha XJ650 which was not idling on no. 3 cylinder, (now resolved),  I use Silkolene Pro FST Fuel System Treatment every time I fill up from reserve.
