new Member/ clutch spline issues/lube

Morning all,
New member, Derrick H 08 r1200rt. does anyone have info on clutch spline failure on my generation of bike? Was that resolved by 2008, also does it require hyper vigilant maintenance.

Hello Derrick and welcome to the forum. Just noticed your post which does seem to have slipped through the net unseen. Personally, I am not aware of any Clutch Spline failures but maybe others can shed some light. As the item it'self is hidden deep inside the engine I can't see just how any form of "maintenance" can be carried out. With regard to the "Driveline" the only "maintenance I personally carry out is to clean and lube the rear splines of the Prop Shaft / Final Drive during a final drive oil change or during a winter "deep" clean. To Clean / Lube the front joint is more involved and requires removal of the Shaft.
