That's it then, we'll have a ride up the Northumberland Coast.

Carry it on into the Borders and then you have a ride par excellence. Sign me up to that one. 'Centre of Britain' in Haltwhistle as the base. I think we already have routes in the bank. You could be planning that one while I'm away on my hols.

Earn a few extra brownie points this weekend and see if you can 'bank' your permit for next time.

They don't allow 'yobbo' bikers to stop in Beadnell, that's why we like to stay there. The 'greasers', if you remember that term, all go to the chippie in Seahouses. In any case whenever we go there it pi$$es down so you'll be grounded in your garage shortening what's left of your other fingers.

The depart point for this ride, Castleton, was a one-off.

The more regular depart point for 'Northern Monkeys' rides is the café in Morrisons, Wetherby, the reason being that it is roughly equidistant for most of the regular (upto now) participants in 'Northern Monkeys' rides. Wetherby is also a good start point for access to some good areas to the North, East and West. South is slightly more problematic.

To cover a wider area, other start points would need to be considered and this may involve overnight stays. I know some of us would consider this should ideas and suggestions be forthcoming.
