September 2017 'Northern Monkeys' Peak District.

Post by k9doc »

Meet at Castleton Car Park 1000 for a 1015 depart. The ride will finish on the A616 at Langsett after a ride across the superbly resurfaced Strines.
Knee sliders will not be necessary for this ride as it is based around what the Peak District is famous for although it's possible on certain stretches to 'get a dab on'.

I was thinking of attempting to rerun this event on Saturday 16th Sept. with Sunday as the fall back position should the weather gods try to intervene again. Any interest?

I'm in if I can get a domestic pass. I won't know until closer to the time as we are on holiday the previous week but I'll be there if I can.

Unfortunately due to unforeseen and unintended changes to holiday plans, I will not be able to take this ride on the 16th.

This leads to two alternatives, the first being to try again later, after the holiday season and the second would be for someone else to take the ride. I am happy to supply the intended route and advice on comfort stops etc.

Apologies for the second time on this one, will endeavour to do better.

Got the route from k9doc, looks interesting.

For me to do it, I'd need to have an overnight stop to make the start at Castleton the next morning.

Is someone else able to lead this ride on the 16th September 2017, it's too far for me to do in one day.

If this Peak District ride does not go ahead, I would consider offering an alternative day ride from/to Wetherby. I'll start a new thread to gauge any interest.
