Hi there:

New forum member. Planning to get a R1200RT in the near future and in the meantime doing all the research about this wonderful bike, being checking the new models at the local dealerships for $23K. Will like to get a used 2014 - 2015 and not pay new. Currently my main bike is a 2013 Victory Cross Country. Is great bike but feel very disappointed that Polaris drop the brand to focus more on the Indian brand. I ride my bike on a daily basis and for me the cargo storage is one of my main requirements. My other two bikes are a 2011 HD Softail Fatboy and a 2006 HD V-ROD (VRSCR). I plan to keep this two bikes forever because I like them very much.

My other alternative to the R1200RT is the 2017 HD Roadking Special but new is in the same price range of a new R1200RT. I think I get better and newer technology with the R1200RT. Also per my research seems like a lot of Police Departments all over the world use the R1200RT and semms like is easy to work on this bike/engine.

- 2012 R1200RT (0440),  2011 HD Softail Fatboy and  2006 HD V-ROD VRSCR Streetrod.

Hi and welcome to the forum. You won't find anyone on here arguing with your choice - the RT is a great bike. I hope you find one you are happy with.
