BMW R1200RT/R1250RT Forum

Hi all
I have a 2005 1200RT
Servicing her today and all went okay except Ive hit a problem when went to change oil in final drive.
Bike in neutral, on centre stand, rear wheel removed, support arm disconnected, speedo out and brake caliber off but it wont drop down completely to separate the splines (see pics at https://www.dropbox.com/sh/6lghlj79jjnj ... OzQua?dl=0 ). I have pressed it down (and I am a heavy auld yoke) but not moving. Of course I'd have to have done it right at the door to the garage!

That is alway trickey for me.  I have the same problem most of the time also.  Sure would have been better if they had never thought the oil never needs to be changes and just put the fill plug where it should be with the rest of the models later on.
