Cheers Steve,
It was strange with the bar risers and lowered pegs but it was comfortable. Have an issue changing gear but I'm working on that bodge

I will post some but wifi a bit scarce in most of the hotels/b&b’s we’ve stayed in so far. My immediate priority is to clean the bike, heavy rain for the last five days and 1586 miles has left it in a hell of a mess!

Like you I’ve had the bike for about a couple of years and never felt the need to bar risers, but this trip has changed my mind so I’ll get the Ilium risers like you, Wunderlich are silly money!

I bought a set of Chinese copy jobbies (stupidly) without comparing them with Iliums. When they arrived I wasn’t happy with them as there is no 2nd link? So I put that down to experience.

I put on a set of Chinese risers on my 17RT about a year ago. They are obviously not as strong as the Iliums; and would probably break in a crash. I have been very happy with mine. I have righted my bike with using them and they didn't flex or break. So, they are not as fragile as they appear.

You are more than welcome to join us for tea. The only reason i didn't include Essex was i thought anyone outside the counties i mentioned would want to ride so far for an hour or so to meet up. When the date is fixed i will post the time and place and everyone is welcome. More the merrier.
Trust me I am a retired Doctor and lecturer at Oxford University of Structural and Mechanical/Electrical engineering.

Bike booked in for a service end of Aug with Rybrook BMW Shrewsbury. Got a F850GS booked as a loan bike for 2 - 3 days as they asked to have my bike for 2 days for the valve clearance check and software update.
