Could be something to do with the weather, hadn't thought of that.

PS Do you always carry the warning triangle when you park up on your sunset rideouts? If so, do you carry it in your non-approved top box?  Miracle it's not been nicked.

A crisp ride out in the Peak District today. Plenty of snow still around in parts.

Nice pics them sir!.. Where's that Waterway?. The poor Cat n Fiddle, such a shame it shut down :-(  It always seemed busy too! even in winter!! There does seem to be a new place opened up further down the hill (Macclesfield side) where the Walkers,Cyclist's and a few bikes gather, I've not stopped there yet though? Probably too busy getting over to Alderley Edge for an Ice Cream at the Wizard Image

Bugsworth (Buxworth) Canal Basin is an interesting spot with a nice pub adjacent, some good riding around there too.

Tried to get a photo of the flight of locks at Marple (16 of them) but they were doing the road up which runs alongside so couldn't get near enough. Always been fascinated by our inland waterways. Must be in the blood as my dad's ancestors were bargees (not bhajis of the onion variety).

It sure is a pity about the Cat & Fiddle, their drinking chocolate was excellent. They used to have a sign on the wall which read 'RIDE LIKE A KNOB AND DIE' which seemed quite appropriate considering the carnage that used to occur every summer weekend before they stuck the average 50 cameras up there.
The owners are looking for other leaseholders though, not necessarily for a pub, possibly café, restaurant or some other touristy attraction as it is the second highest pub (after Tan Hill) in England. Let's hope they keep the sign and the chocolate.

Chatsworth House, Owned by Bill Cavendish. Know him well! We had afternoon tea and Cucumber sandwiches on the the lawn only last week  ;)  He would have normally stretched to a bit of Ham but funds are a bit tight due to the recent refurbishment  ::)

He'll most likely clear a bit more tat out of his attic. He did similar a few years ago to make some space (only 297 rooms) but that only raised a measly £6.5 million. Still that would buy quite a few ham sarnies.

Spent the day fitting new front discs and pads to our Skoda Yeti. Dealer time for this job would be around a couple of hours so why did it take me all day ?. “Corrosion”. There are often gripes on this and other forums about corrosion issues on BMW bikes but believe me I have never seen anything like this on any bike.I was expecting that a bit of wire brushing would be needed around calipers and brackets etc but what I found was serious. Even the hubs looked like they had been trawled up from 6 years under the sea. Rust so thick that integrity of the hub must be in question. Hours of chipping, wire brushing and a coat of Hammerite has improved the appearance. After I couldn’t resist lifting the covers on the RT and gazed in wonder at the pristine calipers, shiny discs and lustrous paint finish !!
