Front and rear suspension

Front and rear suspension where do I begin to know and understand that it's working as it should be on my 2005r1200rt? Has anyone had their suspension refurbished and at what cost?
If you are happy with how the bike rides, why bother? Way to find out how it should work,
take a new one for a ride then go back on yours. If you think is worth spending money,
any aftermarket is better and cheaper than a OEM. Good luck with your decision! :pee:
