No map update available for Zumo 660, still using 2018.20.

GE updated to v6.5.1.0.

Thanks.

Thanks, hopefully my Zumo 660 & PC will update to 2019.10 ok.

The new maps require a minimum of 5GB memory card, (only had a 4GB in the device),  bought a 32GB card from Tesco for a tenner.

David, my 660 updated yesterday to 2019.10 without a problem, though the process seemed to crawl for the last few yards.

What size memory card is in your device & do you format (clear it) before uploading the new maps.

Took around 3 hours to update my device & PC, amazingly after the first attempt.

Hi David,

I have a 16GB card and did not format it before letting GE do its job.

Until yesterday, only had a 4GB card, at the time, it was the minimum recommended by Garmin. Previously, without formatting, there was never enough memory space for the latest update. As above, the most recent update needs at least 5GB, (max. 32GB recommended by Garmin),  so bought the largest card. Although not a problem, with the increased memory, formatting may not be required until some time in the future.

Just a thought, when new map updates are available, if you don't format (clear) the memory card, do you end up with the old maps still stored on the card.

If this is the case, looking on the device at the Map Info, do you just select (tick) which maps to use.

Hi David,

When I access the map info tab on the device only the 2019.10 maps show up - the previous 2018.20 do not.

Indeed there is only a single gmapsup1.img file on the device - and that is on the SD card.

While Mapsource/Mapupdater and the early versions of Garmin Express were being debugged, I remember numerous caveats about clearing out old image files. That no longer appears to be necessary.

Hope this helps ....
